Puppies start breaking in, or, start Greyhound School approx 12-14
months old, depending on breaker availability and pup maturity.
The month long course will determine if the pup has the ability
or signs to make the track, and what grade of racer it will be,
ie, city class, tab class or city class, or in worst of situations,
not good enough to make the track. We will try and do everything
possible to give a pup a chance to make the track, if we think
it is possible, or theres a chance.
If the pup
makes the grade, and becomes a racer, instead of paying set weekly
and monthly fees, we use trainers on whats called a 50/50 basis.
This means, we split the prizemoney and not
pay training fees. This deal does vary, example, a trainer may
take the first $50 then split it 50/50. |
